When COVID-19 hit, Cantata Pacifica decided on March 14, 2020 to stop meeting in person, but we didn't want to take a break. With no real production experience, we decided to start virtual rehearsals via zoom and Jamulus and produced several culminating videos throughout the seasons. In the process, we've welcomed many music lovers from around the globe!
These video projects require a large commitment of time from our production team and the increased costs are in no relation to the modest dues that were raised through participation. Your generous donations will help close the gap, prepare us to meet in person again soon, and be most appreciated.

OUR ACCOMPANIST
Accompanist - David Rivas
David Rivas is a pianist who loves to collaborate. His work includes performing music, teaching, and using technology to create musical experiences. He has been part of choirs since his teen years: first as a vocalist, and quickly thereafter as an accompanist and section leader.
David currently works as a private piano teacher, collaborative pianist, and technician. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Music degree from Warner Pacifica College, and a Master of Music degree from Portland State University. He has worked as a staff accompanist at Pacific University and George Fox University, as an adjunct professor at Portland State University, and as a freelance accompanist for many soloists and choral groups. He has accompanied musical theatre productions, including The Fantasticks!, Les Misérables, and The Mikado. He regularly accompanies at local festivals, including collaborating with several musicians in their state-winning performances. He has been involved in church music for most of his adult life, with a particular highlight directing combined choirs to perform selections from Handel's Messiah.
