Who We Are

We join together to sing with joy and love to help participants improve their singing.   Before the pandemic, Portland, Oregon-based Cantata Pacifica had 30 singers who rehearsed weekly and performed twice a year in live concerts.

Then, in 2020, we had even more singers, both across the nation and overseas. We  rehearsed virtually for six weeks and produced recordings which are shared on our youtube channel.  

Joining Cantata Pacifica gives you an opportunity to sing, learn, and stay in good vocal condition. One day, we will again sing together in person, rehearsing and performing face to face. Meanwhile we join together in occasional joyful singing sessions, virtually. 

We work hard to enhance our skills while enjoying the process of creating a whole that is more than the sum of its parts.  We seek singers who can match pitch, enjoy blending in a group setting, and who are committed to the process of rehearsing and striving for improvement. Most of our founding members previously sang at PCC Rock Creek where we met the music professionals with whom we partnered to establish this new, independent choir.
