WHY WAS TUITION RAISED?
This past year has been very difficult, as everyone knows all to well.
To ease the way for our members and to encourage new participation , we reduced our participation fees by 40%. And, while we would like to continue at a reduced rate, that rate is not sustainable.
Our professionals have contributed countless uncompensated hours, in an effort to sustain an electronic platform. In addition, the shortfall in funds have been made up by generous contributions and Cantata Pacifica financial reserves.
As we continue to grow in our online efforts, and looking toward the future when we can once again meet face to face, the board reluctantly voted to raise tuition for the coming term back to $99.
In exchange for the return to higher fees, the choir is adding NEW benefits in addition to all the services previously provided. We hope to continue to provide a quality and uplifting experience.
We have expanded rehearsal time by 50% to provide the choir with Jamulus, a real-time rehearsal platform. This is as close to "live" rehearsal as possible right now.
Continued time invested in technology research and development
We have increased our staff to include an audio production person with professional level equipment. Previously this was completed by the director on open resource software and volunteer Tom Robinson, who we thank!
Purchasing music that is not in our library for this upcoming session that is appropriate to the on-line/video format.
We hope you all will continue to join us as we work through these days ahead, looking forward to when we can once again sing together in person.
What a joy and celebration that will be!
We appreciate your participation and sincerely hope the higher fee will not prevent you from joining. (Please contact [email protected] with any questions or comments)
